HEY, I'M ERICA!
I’m a freelance videographer and photographer originally from the Kansas City area. I’m a sophomore at Indiana University pursuing a BA in Media Advertising with a Sport Marketing minor. At IU, I’m a creative video student intern at the Mark Cuban Center for Sports Media and Technology. Although sports have been the area I’m most involved with these past few years, I enjoy working with all kinds of media, from portraits to events and more!
HOW I GOT HERE...
Since I was 8, there has always been a camera in my hand. I remember taking photos of my little brother’s baseball team with a tiny digital camera that I still carry around today. My passion for media and sports only grew from there. Originally, I started in film to capture meaningful stories. However, I learned I could combine these passions to capture emotional stories in sports as well
WHERE I'M AT NOW...
Currently, I work as an intern with IU Athletics in the video department. This year, I’ve worked primarily with women’s soccer, tennis, basketball, and a historic Indiana Football team. At the Cuban Center, I create content for Indiana's social media pages and various video board content.
MY GOAL
Emotion is the foundation of my content because I feel that's the most powerful, truthful way to tell a story. During my time in media, I discovered my love for creating a sense of community and belonging. This led me to focus on content that makes people excited to be a part of something bigger than themselves. I strongly believe it's important for everyone to find a piece of work that they can relate to and believe truly reflects who they are! I want to help create content that makes people feel confident and proud to be a part of. I am so excited to tell your story and help you remember your favorite moments!
